Frequently asked questions

1. Who are Beyond The Game sessions for?

Our sessions are designed for children who love football but may struggle in traditional team environments. This includes children with SEND, anxiety, low confidence, or those who benefit from smaller, calmer, more supportive sessions.

2. Does my child need a diagnosis to attend?

No. A formal diagnosis is not required. We welcome children at all stages of their journey, including those awaiting assessment or who simply need a more understanding environment.

3. How big are the groups?

Group sizes are kept intentionally small to ensure each child receives the support and attention they need. Sessions are capped, with some children supported 1:1 or in very small groups depending on their needs.

4. Is it competitive football?

No. Our focus is on confidence, enjoyment, and development. While football skills are taught, sessions are structured to be calm, supportive, and pressure-free, allowing children to progress at their own pace.

5. What if my child is anxious or shy?

That’s completely okay. Many of the children we work with are anxious or shy when they first join. We allow children to settle in their own time, offering reassurance, routine, and encouragement without pressure.

6. What qualifications do you hold?

Sessions are delivered by a fully qualified coach who is FA trained, safeguarding certified, first-aid trained, DBS checked, and fully insured.

7. Do you offer trials?

Yes. We offer free trial sessions so your child can experience the environment with no pressure or commitment before signing up.

8. How do payments work?

Sessions run on a monthly subscription model, which secures your child’s place and allows for consistent support and progress tracking.

9. Do you provide progress updates?

Yes. We regularly track each child’s development across key areas such as confidence, communication, focus, and emotional regulation, and share updates with parents.

10. Can parents stay and watch?

Parents are welcome to stay nearby if their child needs reassurance. As confidence grows, many children become comfortable taking part independently.

11. Where do sessions take place?

Sessions take place at approved outdoor and sports facilities across Greater Manchester. Exact locations are shared once a place is secured.

12. What if we cant make a session due to unforeseen circumstances?

If for whatever reason you cannot attend one particular session, you can drop into the next available session (Each age category has 2 sessions running per week) We understand that with children who have additional needs, it is crucial we allow this degree of flexibility.

13. How do I sign up?

You can register interest via the website, and we’ll be in touch to arrange a trial and discuss the best option for your child.
